Fishing Holidays - Lough Erne

Aghnacarra Guesthouse is in an ideal location, set among the fish laden lakes and the fabulous River Erne where some of our regular guests have enjoyed catching up to 400lb of bream at a time. The River Erne at Carrybridge, which often produces prolific catches is just 500 yards down the road and Belle Isle and West Isle stretches are just around the corner.

Set in 2¾ acres with its own small lake which is home to wildfowl, herons and swans Aghnacarra offers excellent Bed & Breakfast, Half Board or Full Board Accommodation. Guests will find some of the best fishing areas in Northern Ireland within a mere 5 miles radius; Cornagrade, Broadmeadow, Belle Isle, Trory, Derryadd Quay and New Bridge to name but a few.

In the evening, when the days fishing is over its time to relax in our residents bar or TV lounge or perhaps pursue the more active sport of pool in the games room.

By arrangement with Belle Isle Estate, our guests gain access to exclusive fishing spots and also free fishing on the estate day ticket waters. Boats can be hired subject to availability.

Good catches of bream are regularly recorded from these areas. To get the most out of your holiday Dave advocates that pre-baiting is important and the most popular and productive baits are caster, red maggot and worm. Brown crumb is advised and specialist additive based ground baits are very popular with many of our regular guests.

There are also some excellent pike waters with many good catches of double figure weight specimens recorded.

Bait:
We have excellent bait storage facilities with a large cold room and smaller fridges to keep daily bait requirements. Deliveries can be arranged with IRISH BAIT SERVICES prior to your arrival and fresh bait is then on hand with extra fresh deliveries through the week as necessary. This can be ordered through us at no extra cost.

Drying Room:
The large drying room equipped with racks is above the bait storage facility.

Licences & Permits:
These are available from the premises.

Fishing Tackle:
Small items of tackle, eg floats, hooks, special groundbaits etc. can be arranged for you therefore eliminating waste of good fishing time.
